§ Mr. Ingram[holding answer 29 April 1999]: We intend to re-advertise the post nationally very soon. We hope to appoint a Police Ombudsman designate in late July/early August. Much will depend, however, on the number of applicants, the availability of candidates for interview and the date on which the successful candidate is available to take up post, by Royal Appointment.
