The Performance and Innovation Unit in the Cabinet Office is carrying out a study of the role of central Government at regional and local level in England. This includes considering the role of Government Offices in the Regions. A consultation document was circulated to interested parties in March, seeking responses by 1 June. The study is due to be completed by the end of the summer.
