§ Mr. Dewar[holding answer 29 April 1999]: The fee structure for searches in the Registers of Scotland is set out in the Fees in the Registers of Scotland Amendment Order 1999, 51 1999/1085 (S87) which was made on 7 April and came into effect on 21 April 1999. The order introduces uniform fees for searching the Registers for 332W all customers. No distinction is made between solicitors, searchers and the general public. The pertinent fee rates are as follows:
