§ Lord WhittyThe latest available information relates to 1 April 1998 and this shows that 81,700 local authority-owned dwellings were vacant. The majority of these were management vacants (49,500)—i.e. dwellings available for letting immediately, or after completion of minor repairs.
The corresponding figures for 1 April 1997 were 81,200 and 49,900.
