§ The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Scottish Office (Lord Sewel)I understand the French have legislation limiting the landing of bass and that similar legislation has been in force for the last two years. The Government have written to the Commission about the notification of this legislation to other member states. No official representations have as yet been made to the French Government. I will write to the noble Lord once further information has been obtained from the Commission.
