§ Mr. MooreTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list for each region and health board the level of total debt(a) in financial terms and (b) as a percentage of income in the last year for which figures are available. [77144]
§ Mr. GalbraithThe following table contains the information requested for 1997/98. Interest Bearing Debt (IBD) is held in NHS Trusts only and therefore no data are presented for the Island health boards. The information has been grouped by Trust within Health Board area. IBD is a technical term used to describe funds made available from the Government on the establishment of NHS Trusts. This debt is held wholly within the public service and no liabilities are owed to any external bodies.
