§ Mr. MealeFrom 1 April 1999, responsibility for the regional elements of the land and property budget (with the exception of London which will transfer a year later) will move from English Partnerships to the Regional Development Agencies. Regional budgets for 2000–01 have not yet been confirmed. The decision on budgets for that and subsequent years needs to wait for RDA regional strategies and corporate plans.
The grant in aid voted by Parliament for the total land and property programme will be £208m for 2000–01, compared with £216m1 in 1999–2000, as set out in the CSR settlement. The balance of funding for the programme is made up from capital receipts.
