HC Deb 17 March 1999 vol 327 c688W
Mr. Hancock

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence how many people are currently employed by the Duke of York's Royal Military School; and what was the figure at its inception. [76890]

Mr. Spellar

This is a matter for the Chief Executive of the Duke of York's Royal Military School. I have asked the Chief Executive to write to the hon. Member.

Letter from G. H. Wilson to Mr. Mike Hancock, dated 17 March 1999: I am replying to your Question to the Secretary of State for Defence about the number of people currently employed by the Duke of York's Royal Military School and the figure at its inception, as this matter falls within my area of responsibility as Chief Executive of this Agency. There are currently 108 people employed by the Duke of York's Royal Military School, 90 of whom are full time and 18 of whom are part-time. The school was founded in Chelsea in 1803 and regrettably we do not have records of staff numbers at that time.
