To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if the guidance which excludes clinical services from Private Finance Initiative projects includes clinical staff who do not fall under the term, professions allied to medicine. [76117]

Mr. Galbraith

The services which may be included within Private Finance Initiative projects will be restricted to the provision of facilities management and non-clinical services.

From 1 July 1999, this will be a matter for the Scottish Parliament.
