HC Deb 15 March 1999 vol 327 c485W
Mr. Lidington

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security when he expects the Benefits Agency to begin payment of the retirement pension due to the constituent of the hon. Member for Aylesbury (reference ZW755428A); and if he will make a statement. [76467]

Mr. Timms

The administration of Retirement Pension is a matter for Peter Mathison, the Chief Executive of the Benefits Agency. He will write to the hon. Member.

Letter from Peter Mathison to Mr. David Lidington, dated 12 March 1999: The Secretary of State for Social Security has asked me to reply to your recent Parliamentary Question asking when he expects the Benefits Agency to begin payment of Retirement Pension to your constituent who lives in Aylesbury. In this case your constituent elected to have their Retirement Pension paid four-weekly by Automated Credit Transfer. The first payment was released timeously to their bank account on 26 February 1999. They were advised of this on the same day. I hope you find this reply helpful.
