To ask the Secretary of State for Wales (1) if he will list the amount as a percentage of their special transitional grant for the last five years spent by each local authority in Wales in the independent sector; [76910]

(2) if he will list the amount spent on home care by each local authority in Wales as a percentage of their special transitional grant for the last five years. [76911]

In Wales the Care in the Community initiative was not funded through a special transitional grant, as it was in England, but was instead distributed as part of the revenue support grant settlement. The distribution of the additional resources was identified as part of the settlement announcement each year and are given in table 1. The amounts spent by each local authority on personal social services in the independent sector are given in table 2. The latest available information on home care expenditure for each local authority in Wales is given in table 3.
