Mr. Livsey

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales how much(a) Objective 1 and (b) Objective 2 money is forecast to come to Wales from Europe in each of the next five years; and whether the total amount of matched funding will be drawn from existing Welsh Office budgets. [76918]

Mr. Michael

As the hon. Gentleman well knows, the European Commission has not yet agreed the level of resources to be made available to the UK and consequently Wales for its new Structural Funds programmes. The Government will review the distribution of EC receipts when the sums involved are known.

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales how many times he has met Treasury officials and ministers during the last six weeks to discuss matched funding for(a) Objective 1 and (b) Objective 2. [76919]
