§ Mr. GillTo ask the Secretary of State for Health what is his Department's definition of a dietary supplement. [75728]
§ Mr. RookerI have been asked to reply.
The term "dietary supplement" is not defined in UK legislation, nor has a definition been adopted for administrative purposes. Depending upon their nature and presentation, products described as dietary supplements may be regarded in law as either foods or medicines and would be subject to the same controls as apply to other foods or medicines.
