§ Mr. BoatengThe Crime and Disorder Act 1998 requires the responsible authorities—the police and local authorities—to review progress against objectives and targets set in their strategies so as to monitor effectiveness. My Department will continue to work with the Audit Commission, Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and other key partners to support the local crime and disorder reduction partnerships in their vital work.
