§ Mr. McLeishThere were 4,005,720 local government electors on the electoral registers for Scotland which came into force on 16 February 1998. Local government electors are also entitled to vote in Scottish Parliament elections. There were 3,992,502 Parliamentary electors on the registers which came into force on 16 February 1998. Numbers of electors on the electoral registers published on 16 February 1999 are not yet available centrally. I will write to the hon. Member as soon as this information can be obtained.
