HC Deb 09 March 1999 vol 327 cc112-3W
Mr. Drew

To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what plans he has to allow credit unions to gain easier access to post offices to(a) encourage saving and (b) publicise their activities. [73914]

Mr. Ian McCartney

[holding answer 3 March 1999]: Arrangements for access to post offices for credit unions are an operational and commercial matter for the Post Office and the credit unions. However, I have asked the Post Office to consider what actions can be taken to improve working relations between them and the credit unions, within the context of the Post Office's strategic plans.
