To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list the numbers of(a) young people under the age of 16 years and (b) retired people living in each parliamentary constituency in Scotland. [74407]

The information requested is given in the table. The population figures have been prepared by a method which involves a certain degree of approximation and therefore should be treated with some caution.

From 1 July 1999 this will be a matter for the Scottish Parliament.
