To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions what discussions he has had with the London Borough of Wandsworth on the number of council owned properties that are boarded up in various parts of the Borough of Wandsworth, waiting to be sold. [74295]

Mr. Raynsford

I have had no such discussions. Specific figures for the numbers of boarded up properties awaiting sale are not recorded as part of the Housing Investment Programme process.

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions what discussions he has had with the Leader of Wandsworth Council on the Council's policy to develop low cost housing within the borough; and if he will make a statement. [74295]

Mr. Raynsford

Ministers have had no discussions with the Leader of Wandsworth Council about its policy of providing low cost housing. I refer my hon. Friend to the answer I gave to his question on 5 June 1998,Official Report, column 373.

I have no plans to make a statement.
