§ Dawn PrimaroloIt is estimated that unpaid tax written off in respect of construction industry subcontractors is at least £50 million per annum. This represents only a part of the total, unquantifiable loss to the Exchequer of tax and class 4 national insurance contributions evaded by subcontractors in this industry.
