HC Deb 01 March 1999 vol 326 c499W
Mr. Rowlands

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what his current estimate is of the number of households of working age in which there is no-one in work for each local authority area in Wales. [72641]

Mr. Hain

According to the Spring 1998 Labour Force Survey household dataset, there were an estimated 195,000 working-age households in Wales with no-one in employment; a breakdown by local authority area is not available due to the sample size.

Following the transfer of functions, this issue will be a matter for the National Assembly.
