HL Deb 01 March 1999 vol 597 cc160-2WA
Lord Selkirk of Douglas

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will publish, by local authority area in Scotland, the level of nursery education funding per nursery school pupil in cash terms and in 1998–99 prices in each year since 1992. [HL1084]

Lord Macdonald of Tradeston

The information is given in the table below. 1996–97 is the latest financial year for which actual expenditure information is currently available. The figures, which are derived from local authority returns, do not include the cost of home to school transport, school meals, education authority central administration costs and loan charges. From 1 July 1999 this will be a matter for the Scottish Parliament.
