§ Mr. Chris SmithBroadcasters are required to treat matters of political controversy and those relating to current public policy with due impartiality. They must aim for accuracy and ensure that, over a reasonable period of time, a proper balance of different points of view is achieved. The Governors of the BBC are well aware of their obligations in this respect.
