§ Ms Glenda JacksonThe decision as to whether to adopt the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 is a matter for the City Council. They will no doubt take into account the fact that (once the relevant provisions of the Private Hire Vehicles (London) Act 1998 have come into effect) adoption of the 1976 Act will enable private hire vehicles licensed by the City Council to pick up passengers in London. My officials have corresponded this year with officers of Plymouth City Council about these issues.
