§ Mr. BoatengI am aware of no published reports relating to the safety of pelargonic acid vanillyamide (PAVA), although some private research on the subject has been commissioned by Hertfordshire Constabulary. The Home Office Police Scientific Development Branch considers that the information currently available is not sufficient to allow the use of PAVA as an incapacitant in the United Kingdom at present.
