§ Mr. Nick BrownThe Government recognise the economic importance of the horse industry, and for that reason has welcomed the recent establishment of the British Horse Industry Confederation, an organisation set up to foster the interests of all sectors of the horse industry. In this role, the Confederation will be working constructively to promote the competitive position of the British thoroughbred horse breeding industry, as well as raising the profile of other parts of this important rural industry.
