HC Deb 27 July 1999 vol 336 c355W
Mr. Stringer

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions what will be the United Kingdom's share of the funds available in 1999 for priority projects and other schemes under the European Community's Financing Programme for Trans-European Transport Networks. [93704]

Mrs. Liddell

Two priority projects in the United Kingdom will receive some £27.8 million. £19.3 million will go towards the Channel Tunnel Rail Link and £8.5 million towards the West Coast Main Line. The UK will also receive over £4 million for other schemes, including £2.16 million for four projects to improve ground transport access to Birmingham, Manchester, London Luton and London City airports, and £1.6 million for a development study of satellite-based aviation and marine navigation systems.
