§ Mr. Wilson[holding answer 23 July 1999]: Information on exports of military equipment during 1997 was included in the Government's Annual Report on Strategic Export Controls published by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office on 25 March 1999. A survey of the relevant Tariff Codes was given in Appendix C of the Report. Information for 1998 will be included in the Government's next Annual Report which is currently being prepared.
Figures for UK imports and exports of services prior to 1997 could only be provided at disproportionate cost, and the international trade classification does not cover services.
