HC Deb 27 July 1999 vol 336 c221W
Fiona Mactaggart

To ask the Parliamentary Secretary, Lord Chancellor's Department what targets he has set for the maximum reasonable period for the Immigration Appellate Authority to wait, after an appeal has been lodged for a child refused entry clearance under paragraph 297(e) of the Immigration Rules, before it receives the explanatory statement for the case. [93332]

Mr. Vaz

The main component of this type of appeal is the explanatory statement itself, which is currently issued by the IAA within five days of receipt from the Home Office.
