§ Mr. RaynsfordThe latest information is for 1997–98 and in that year local authorities spent 7.2 per cent. of their allocation of the Capital Receipts Initiative on building new dwellings and 92.1 per cent. on renovating or repairing existing dwellings. The small balance of expenditure was spent on non-housing items.
