§ Janet AndersonOur strategy, "Tomorrow's Tourism", contains a host of initiatives designed to promote quality in tourism in this country, including a model regeneration plan for resorts. It also identifies actions to help increase access to tourism for those with low incomes, for families, for elderly people and for people with disabilities.
Single Regeneration Budget awards of over half a million pounds to the Yorkshire and Humberside Coastal Tourism Initiative (which includes Scarborough and Whitby) and almost £3 million to the Falsgrave Community Investment Initiative in Scarborough will help encourage families to holiday in the area.
