To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment how many individuals his Department has recruited under the New Deal for Young People. [91890]

Mr. Andrew Smith

As at 1 July 1999 the Department for Education and Employment had recruited 13, and the Employment Service 362, young people through the New Deal for Young People.
