To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what tax incentives he has proposed to encourage businesses to support community initiatives. [91122]

There is already a wide range of tax incentives to encourage businesses to support community initiatives, and many businesses make use of them.

This Government are considering as part of the Review of Charity Taxation how the tax system can best encourage businesses to support charitable causes. As part of this review, we issued a consultation document on Budget day which set our various proposals for further discussion, inviting responses by 31 August 1999.
