HC Deb 19 July 1999 vol 335 c398W
Ms Moran

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what representations he has received from organisations concerned with health and safety on the draft Freedom of Information Bill. [90809]

Mr. Straw

Up to and including 12 July 1999 I had received one representation on the draft Freedom of Information Bill from an organisation concerned with health and safety. This was from the Health and Safety Commission and Health and Safety Executive (dated 7 July) and was a contribution to the public consultation exercise.

The Health and Safety Commission/Executive expressed views primarily on the extent and nature of the exemptions.

When the pre-legislative scrutiny and public consultation exercise have been completed, the Government will respond to the reports of the Select Committees and the submissions of the consultees. Consultation responses will be made publicly available at this time.
