§ Ms Hewitt[holding answers 1 and 5 July 1999]: The Inland Revenue has approved a total of 395 ISA managers to provide one or more components of ISAs. 284 have been approved to offer the stock and shares component, 239 to offer the cash component and 68 to offer the life insurance component.
Individual ISA products, including products which meet the CAT standards, are not approved by the Inland Revenue or the Treasury and the information requested is not held centrally.
