§ Mr. FoulkesWe recognise and applaud the generosity of the Albanian people in hosting about 440,000 refugees. Throughout the crisis, the Department for International Development (DFID) has supported NGOs to run a range of activities with long-term benefits for the host communities in Albania, such as improvements to water, sanitation, health and education facilities. A DFID scoping mission visited Albania in May to assess the needs of host communities and refugees. As many refugees have now returned to Kosovo, we are discussing the future of these programmes with the responsible humanitarian assistance agencies.
