§ Clare ShortOur Country Strategy Paper, a copy of which will be sent to the hon. Gentleman, highlights low levels of education as one of the main causes of poverty in Nepal. A large number of donors are active in the sector. Many are involved in primary education. We are working with the Asian Development bank to raise the quality of secondary education. We are also promoting community literacy by helping local NGOs to improve their delivery of literacy training. We plan to work with 225W Government, donors and civil society to promote a more co-ordinated approach to addressing needs across the entire education sector.
