§ Mr. KilfoyleNumbers and percentages of staff in the Home Civil Service in the areas and responsibility levels' specified are set out in tables 1 and 2. The full detail requested is not available for all staff. However, estimates covering 97 per cent. of permanent non-industrial staff in the Home Civil Service are set out in tables 3 and 4.
1 Responsibility levels are an approximate assignment of staff to a level of seniority broadly equivalent to the former service-wide grades.
