To ask the Parliamentary Secretary, Lord Chancellor's Department what is his estimate of the number of people in England and Wales who are both chairman of a police authority and of a magistrates court committee where the areas of operation are approximately the same; and if he will make a statement. Of those areas where the magistrates courts committee is approximately the same as the police authority area, there is one area where the same individual is chairman of both the police authority and magistrates court committee.
