HC Deb 28 January 1999 vol 324 c368W
Mr. Beith

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many police stations there were, per police force, in each of the last three years for which figures are available; and if he will make a statement. [67918]

Mr. Boateng

The information requested is not collected centrally and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost. An alphabetical list of police stations in the United Kingdom can be found in the gazetteer of the Police and Constabulary Almanac, a copy of which is in the Library.

An Audit Commission study of police force estates has been collecting information on the current number of police stations, by force, in England and Wales. The Report is due to be published in the Spring.
