§ Mr. HoonMy Department has received a number of representations on this matter. As of 15 January 1999 I have received 120 letters from MPs and 107 letters from members of the public. The Department also received 114 responses to the Consultation paper. These included representations from all seven of the representative bodies within the Magistrates' Courts Service.
