§ Mr. SpellarThe total asset value of the UK Department Estate measured in terms of its existing use to the Ministry of Defence as at 1 April 1998, is approximately £12 billion and the Scottish Estate is approximately £1.5 billion.
The total rateable value of the UK Estate is approximately £430 million and that of the Scottish Estate is approximately £49 million.
Both sets of figures include the TAVRA estate.
