To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what plans he has to implement proposals to abolish sixth forms in secondary schools. [67147]

Mr. Hain

There are no plans to abolish schools sixth forms in secondary schools. On the contrary in those schools with sixth forms, we are looking to increase pupil choice and opportunities.

Mr. Swayne

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what plans he has to implement proposals to set up a new NDPB to fund and administer sixth forms. [67145]

Mr. Michael

There are no plans to set up and administer a new body to fund and administer sixth forms in Wales.

Education and Training Action Group will produce a final document following consultation covering a range of proposals which will principally be for consideration by the National Assembly.
