HC Deb 25 January 1999 vol 324 cc82-3W
Mr. Gordon Prentice

To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office what(a) secretarial and (b) other administrative help is given to right hon. and hon. Liberal Democrat Members of the Joint Cabinet Consultative Committee; and what is the estimated cost of this assistance to date. [66880]

Dr. Jack Cunningham

[holding answer 21 January 1999]: No dedicated staff support is provided to the Liberal Democrats. There are two individuals (one in 10 Downing Street and one in the Cabinet Office Secretariat) who are the designated points of liaison with the Liberal Democrats in relation to the Joint Cabinet Consultative Committee. This role is undertaken as part of their normal job and no additional costs are involved.
