HC Deb 25 January 1999 vol 324 c123W
Mr. Swinney

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the current amount of his Department's emergency reserve or contingency fund; and what amount he proposes it should be in each of next three financial years. [65813]

Mr. Dewar

[holding answer 18 January 1999]: The Scottish Office does not have and has no plans for an emergency reserve or contingency fund. After devolution it will be for the Scottish Parliament to decide whether it wishes to set aside resources for this purpose.
