§ Mr. WigleyTo ask the Secretary of State for Wales when he expects to publish the consultation paper on the disqualification of persons from membership of the National Assembly for Wales under section 12 of the Government of Wales Act 1998.[66163]
§ Mr. MichaelThe consultation referred to ran from 13 August to 2 October 1998. Views were invited on proposed offices and employment whose holders would be disqualified from also being members of the National Assembly by means of an Order-in-Council under section 12 of the 1998 Act.
I expect to put a draft of the Order before Parliament. It will be subject to affirmative resolution procedure in both Houses.
