§ Lord Williams of MostynSenator Pinochet was arrested on 16 October 1998 by the Metropolitan Police on the basis of a provisional arrest warrant issued by the Bow Street magistrate under Section 8(1)(b) of the 117WA Extradition Act 1989. Section 8(5) of the Extradition Act allows for the execution of such a warrant by any constable.
