§ Mr. Galbraith[holding answer 15 December 1998]: The number of staff employed and the annual costs involved in connection with the administration of the National Lottery are as follows:

The numbers of staff involved in Lottery issues fluctuate throughout the year. 2Figures relate to 1997–98. The Millennium Commission, the National Heritage Memorial Fund and the National Lottery Charities Board also distribute Lottery funds in Scotland. These bodies operate on a UK-wide basis. It is not possible to estimate precisely the numbers of staff or administration costs associated with their work in Scotland.
