To ask the Secretary of State for Wales how many patients in each health authority area were waiting for NHS treatment in December 1998 for(a) six months and under, (b) six to 12 months, (c) 12 to 18 months and (d) over 18 months; and if he will make a statement. [72756]

Data for the number of patients awaiting in-patient or day case treatment for up to 6 months are not centrally available. Data for the number of residents of each health authority area who were waiting for up to 12 months, 12 to 18 months and over 18 months at 31 December 1998 are given in the table.
