HC Deb 22 February 1999 vol 326 c2W
Mr. Moss

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if she will make a statement on the status of the current review of the Royal Ulster Constabulary. [70097]

Mr. Ingram

The independent Policing Commission is consulting widely and has received over 2,000 submissions—the vast majority from individual members of the public. It has met with many of the key figures in the field of policing and has recently held a number of public meetings throughout Northern Ireland. As the Agreement says, the Commission will report by summer 1999.
