To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions when he expects Croydon Tramlink to be fully operational. [71950]

Croydon Tramlink is being constructed and will be operated under a 99 year concession agreement awarded by London Transport to Tramtrack Croydon Limited.

I understand that Tramtrack aim to open the system in November 1999.
